About This Wine:
Our Sauvignon Blanc originates from vineyards situated along gently sloping hillsides of the Niagara Escarpment overlooking Lake Ontario. In this area, the combination of limestone-clay soils, elevation and moderating on-shore breezes allow us to produce a wine that exhibits the crisp, herbal character typical of this cool-climate variety.

Piercing varietal traits of lemon grass and gooseberry are at the fore on the nose, with notes of pink citrus, spice and a touch of musk in behind. The palate is dry and medium in weight with plenty of crisp acidity woven into the wine’s plush textures. Intense flavours of gooseberry and freshly cut grass predominate overtop nuances of ripe ruby grapefruit. While very cleansing, the finish is quite persistent and refined, showing hints of Granny Smith apples and citrus zest. All in all, a Sauvignon that stands out for its balance and clarity of flavour.
Raw, steamed or grilled shellfish; white-fleshed fish (e.g., pickerel or halibut); pasta with pesto
Enjoyable in its youth, the exceptional body and structure of this vintage ensures up to a decade of cellaring.

Reviews & Accolades:
WINE ALIGN: This is mid-weight, calm sauvignon. Almost cool as cucumber, a scent which I picked up on the nose, along with gooseberry, mint leaf and spruce needle. It's fleshy yet firm, lively and a touch green and bitter and vaguely chalky on the finish. Very good length. Tasted February 2014. 88 points. David Lawrason
